HE-3-SVC Compact Cryostat - Standard Sample Loading, Sample in Vacuum
Overview
The model HE-3-SVC cryostat is a compact He-3 unit designed for experiments that cannot accomodate the larger height of the standard units. It is ideal for installation on an optical table and is typically used for detector cooling to He-3 temperatures.
Standard Configuration
The model HE-3-SVC cryostat is a compact He-3 unit designed for experiments that cannot accommodate the larger height of the standard units. It is ideal for installation on an optical table and is typically used for detector cooling to He-3 temperatures. The sample or detector is attached at the bottom of the He-3 pot inside the vacuum jacket of the cryostat, and the system is often supplied with a window that provides optical access to the He-3 cold finger. The cryostat includes a superinsulated, liquid nitrogen shielded helium reservoir designed for long hold times, consistent with the size of the unit. The He-3 gas is permanently contained in a storage volume attached to the outer jacket of the unit.
