Model CNDT-UHV He-4 cryostat with 4 K UHV cold plate
Similar to the standard CNDT
dewar, but custom designed for UHV applications. This dewar is built to order, so the dimensions, cryogen volume, conflat flange and cold plate tapped hole pattern may all be specified to meet any individual requirements.
The standard CNDT dewar design may be modified for UHV applications. In the system shown in the drawing below, the application required a UHV 4 K cold plate. The dewar mounted to the end-user's chamber via a conflat flange and the cold plate included tapped holes for sample mounting.

The photo on the Overview Tab shows a special Model 10CNDT-UHV cold plate system. The 12" conflat crown assembly bolted to the bottom of the system was provided by the customer. The system is completely UHV compatible and bakeable, although the level sensor has to be removed before bake-out. It is not a variable temperature system; it only operates at 4 K and below if the user pumps on the liquid helium reservoir.
