Janis Research Company is seeking
an individual who will be responsible for the hands-on assembly and testing of
cryogenic products including open and closed cycle cryostats,
and other cryogenic systems.
Candidates should have knowledge
of, and a reasonable amount of experience with, wiring, mass spectrometer leak detectors, vacuum pumps, low-temperature thermometers, blue-print reading
and assembly, soldering, epoxying, transferring
cryogens and trouble-shooting cryogenic systems. This position
requires basic electronics knowledge and a
minimum of five years experience working with laboratory cryogenic
equipment. This is NOT a research position as the technician will be
working in a manufacturing environment. Requires two
years of technical education in a mechanical or electrical science field.
BS Mechanical Engineering/Physics-Applied or higher degree will be a plus. Knowledge
and experience with magnet systems and ultra low temperature products, such
as helium-3, dilution refrigeration and adiabatic demagnetization
refrigerator, will be a plus. Willing to train the right candidate.

Janis Research Company is looking for an individual with excellent
hands-on skills in machining, welding and soldering. We need someone
who can fabricate various prototype cryogenic systems from sketches and
verbal instructions provided by the engineering staff. If you have 10
years experience in a university Physics or Chemistry department's model
shop, and are interested in building a variety of prototype cryogenic
