VNF-100
September 2000
Janis Research Company is now offering a liquid nitrogen variable temperature
cryostat with the sample located in flowing vapor. Ideal for
experiments with samples that are difficult to thermally anchor, such as liquid
or powder samples, the VNF-100 is a low-cost alternative to the
SuperTran-VP or SuperVariTemp dewars when temperatures below 60 K are not
required.
The VNF-100 features a top-loading sample chamber for rapid
sample exchange, and four-way, ƒ = 1.0 optical access to the sample
chamber. Options include special window materials to facilitate
spectroscopy in any range of the electromagnetic spectrum, special sample
holders (including cuvette holders), and feedthrough ports to which a variety of
hermetically sealed electrical feedthroughs may be mounted. Tubular-tailed
designs are also available for use in non-optical applications. The
VNF-100 can even be adapted to fit your spectrometer.
As with all Janis products, variations on the standard design
are available in order to adapt the VNF-100 to your specific experimental
requirements.
