Introduction
Standard Optical Systems
(CCS-150 & CCS-450)
Optical closed cycle systems designed for operation to either 325 K or 500 K with the sample located in vacuum. Options include two different cold head designs, matrix isolation configuration, specialty electrical feedthroughs and a variety of window materials to suit the chosen experiment. Many of these systems are in stock for fast delivery.
APD Cryocooler Systems (CCS-100/202 & CCS-100/204)
Original APD Cryogenics pneumatically
driven, 10 K cryocoolers are once again available.
Compact Optical Systems (CCS-350, CCS-350S &
CCS-350R)
Designed for experiments with restricted space, these systems include all of the features of the standard systems with the additional benefit of a compact configuration. A sub-compact configuration allows magneto-optical experiments in almost any size of electromagnet.
Non-Optical Systems (CCS-250, CCS-350T & CCS-350ST)
Designed for experiments where optical access to the sample is undesirable, these systems can be sized to fit virtually any experiment, large or small. These systems are available in a compact or sub-compact configuration for use in an electromagnet, or can be custom designed for large samples.
Top Loading Exchange Gas Systems (CCS-550, CCS-550T,
CCS-950 & CCS-950T)
Designed for fast sample exchange and efficient cooling of samples where thermal contact to the sample holder is difficult, these systems use the refrigerator to cool a column of helium exchange gas. Exchange gas systems are available with the sample located either above or below the cold head for simple incorporation into systems such as electromagnets, spectrometers or superconducting magnets.
Vibrating Sample Magnetometry Systems (CCS-750)
Specifically designed for vibrating sample magnetometry experiments, this system has the sample located in an isothermal zone of static helium gas, and includes design features that protect the sample from coldhead vibrations and shield the sample and pick-up coil region from spurious eddy currents.
Mössbauer Spectroscopy Systems (CCS-850)
Specifically designed for Mössbauer spectroscopy experiments, this system includes a bellows assembly to isolate the sample from cold head vibrations. The sample is suspended in static exchange gas for efficient cooling of samples with poor thermal conductivity.

Options and Accessories
Many of the systems listed here can be used for several different types of experiment. Additional sample holders and electrical feedthroughs can be supplied with virtually any system to add versatility. Temperature controllers and vacuum pumps to suit your experiment are also available, forming a complete experimental package that is fully integrated before leaving the factory.
